"Is it safe enough to come during this time period to Yemen? The student mentioned that the Italian authorities might not be giving visas due to this."

Dyan Test, Sprachschüler aus USA
Hamoud al-Hubaishi, Mitarbeiter von Saba Institute
About the situation it's quiet in San'a and for foreigners shouldn't visit far away places in the city for more safety. About the visa the authorities here in Yemen right now don't issue student's visas currently , but we bring our students by getting them tourist visas to come to Yemen first and later once they are in Yemen , we get them student residence that can be extended even for one full year.

"What are the documents required to apply for a visa?"

Mario Mugnai, Sprachschüler aus Italien
Hamoud al-Hubaishi, Mitarbeiter von Saba Institute
Send us a copy of his passport, visa, and also flight details to confirm his booking with the travel agency here in Sana'a. It's not a problem to arrive late and we are ready to receive him at any time.

"The student will apply for the visa himself but do you think he has enough time? Should he delay the start date of the course? What is the day that the students are allowed to arrive for the housing? Is it Saturday or Sunday and which day does the housing usually go until? Saturday? What exactly do you mean about the housing? Is there no student residence?"

Please note that obtaining the visa depends on the agency or the institution by which he is going to get the visa. He can let us know once his visa is ready and also to confirm his booking flight details to receive him at Sana'a Airport. Also he has to pay some deposit ( at least 30 % of the course studying before his coming). About accommodation there is no specific day for it so student can live once he arrives. About accommodation yes we have school housing, but as I remember you have advised us that he needs an apartment outside the school ( if that is the case, he needs to confirm to start searching an apartment for him and also he needs to advise how many rooms he needs...etc. If he would like to live inside our school housing, it's OK.)

"Do you think the student needs to wait for the original letter from your school? Do you usually send an original letter by post or only one online?"

Dyan Test, Sprachschüler aus USA
Hamoud al-Hubaishi, Mitarbeiter von Saba Institute
Please note that sometimes for a student to get a visa, they require a letter from Ministry of foreign Affairs in Yemen and for us we can't get a student this letter since the authorities right now don't allow issuing such letter, but we bring our students though getting them a tourist visa to come to Yemen first and then once they arrived, we change it to be a student residence. If the authorities at the Yemeni Embassy in this student's country will only accept an invitation letter from our institute, it's OK and he should send us at least 30% of studying fees in advance to send him this letter.

"If the student is staying only for 4 weeks will he need to switch from a tourist visa to a student residence at all?"

Dyan Test, Sprachschüler aus USA
Hamoud al-Hubaishi, Mitarbeiter von Saba Institute
About switching the visa if his tourist visa covers the duration of his studying I think no need to switch it. About refunding if we didn't apply or start the processing, we refund students for the visa.If we applied and his visa was rejected or he quit at the middle of the processing, we don't refund them.
