The morning classes were interactive and lively. The afternoon supplementary classes were not as structured- like bad afterthought that I should have not taken. Housing okay - did not expect much from pricey Paris ja ja.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...My experiences with administration were good, and enrollment was straightforward. They made sure I had health insurance as well and would have helped me find accommodations if I had needed it.
In saying that, my first week was horrible with my host family and I asked to be reimbursed for the second week so I could leave the situation, but I was forced to stay because they would not reimburse me despite my extenuating circumstances.
The school is nice but small and lacks a cafeteria or place for students to sit together outside of class time during the one hour lunch break. Victor was a phenomenal teacher and is clearly trained in second language pedagogy and methodology. Theiry (sorry if I spelled that wrong) was also great in his oral speaking classes and actually gave students a chance to speak unlike Agnes who did worksheets and listening comprehension during afternoon ORAL speaking classes and spoke over students when they tried to ask a question.
In what world are you not allowed to speak in an oral conversation class that you paid for? She would constantly say “mais c’est B2” in a condescending way when questions were asked and made us feel stupid. Yes, it is the beginning of B2, but we have not yet finished B2 to know all the expected content for that level, so teach us when we are struggling! Phi Nga was incredibly rude and condescending and actualy told a German student who was struggling to go get a coffee and wake up after telling him certain words he was trying to say weren’t French words or that he was pronouncing them wrong. He had arrived at 3am and was tired yes, but the way she handled the situation was completely unprofessional and condescending. He did not return to that class and I transferred out of her class after the first day.
I put myself in the lower B1.2 class despite needing B2 for my job, just to get away from those teachers because there were no other options for B2 during the weeks I was there. For the amount of money I spent to study there, I expected to have better trained teachers. The second week I was there, I had Chahinez for B1.2 and I was able to follow her instruction but she did not write notes, rushed through the grammar lessons and gave us worksheets with all the exceptions and rules to read ourselves and refer to instead of going through them and teaching them herself.
We felt as if she was irritated when we asked questions and constantly referred us back to the handouts. I was unable to retain or apply most of what was taught during the second week due to her teaching style and her preference of giving oral listening exercises so she could sit back and scroll on her phone. I was not impressed. As a second language teacher who has attended several second language teaching instruction courses in various Canadian Francophone mileus, I can confidently say that most of these teachers have not been trained in second language instruction. I would recommend Trois Pistoles, l’université St.Anne, L’université Laval or Edu-Inter over Accord, despite it’s prime location near the Eiffel Tower.
There were no planned social outings either which should be an integral part of learning French in Paris. The administration office was very kind and helpful and Nicholas even checked on me one day and asked about my living situation because he felt so bad for me. The director who runs the school was helpful when I needed it, but overhearing him yelling at his staff in the office on my last day made me so uncomfortable that I did not attend my last oral conversation class that afternoon and left during the lunch break. You should never yell at your employees in any business, let alone in a place where students can hear. Respect is earned, not demanded. Overall, I enjoyed meeting new people from different countries and did have a good time at Accord but there are many areas that could use improvement.
Very good location.
Teachers discuss individual chapters from textbooks, and students perform exercises.
Overall I enjoyed the course. However, even though I had submitted a test prior to attending, the class I should have been in wasn’t available for both weeks. The first week with Oliver was difficult as she spoke too fast for me to understand and I couldn’t read her writing,, she agreed her friends couldn’t read it either!!! The second week with Isabell was a much better learning experience, she is a very good teacher and has a lot of effective skills. The afternoon class was also helpful with ?Edwardo he is also an excellent teacher, they were much easier to understand. My first week I believe was not a good time spent for me as I was frustrated most of the time.
As for the school, the management staff were very helpful and approachable especially Lawrence.
As an owner of a private teaching facility in Australia, I was very surprised at the lack of up to date audio visual equipment, in this age of technology the AV should be of a much higher standard which would make teaching more effective, the television screen were far too small to see across the classroom.
There was a distinct lack of toilets in the school, the students toilets there was often long line waiting at repose, also the handdryer did not work, with the world reeling from Covid I believe the health standards were very poor. I noticed that there was a cleaner but the toilets were very dirty including the toilets themselves and all the ledges within the toilet rooms.
Another disappoint there was not a room students could sit and have their breaks and coffee.
I know this is a long list but you asked for a full evaluation.
Being in a setting that only French is spoken was helpful. That said, the teacher seemed somewhat disorganized during the classes. I had expected much more time would be spent on speaking French. There was too much time when students spoke but the teacher did not correct them or have the class repeat the proper pronunciation. Overall, the class did not meet my expectations.
CLASSES; Nice group, enthousiastic.sociable.
TEACHERS: Well prepared, dynamic, good attitude, happy, attentive to our needs.
LOCATION: Perfect.
FACILITIES: Excellent
ACTIVITIES. Exellent, vary varied!!!!
Good teacher for the PM class, only he spoke a bit fast for me. He made it quite interactive, which was good. Good corrections made. Only French speaking allowed, which is good.
Class rooms were basic but functional, in the basement a bit extra basic...
Location was superb, easy to get to.
For the evening coaching we had three teachers in five sessions, which was great, they all had their own style. Quite interactive and playful which made it extra nice.
Can be improved: recommend a good book to learn from, we now used simple photocopies every lesson and they were a bit random.
Also: when computer was used we had to look at a small laptop screen, which could have been connected to a large monitor, which was there but not used. This was a bit unprofessional.
Accord is located in a great spot in Paris. Right near the Eiffeltower. While the classes are mostly great, your teachers will change during your stay and you will find, that some are great and others are not.... that can be frustrating. I was benefiting from private classes which were tailored to my needs. So if you have the means, I would recommend this: Morning classes with the group and afternoon private lessons. Overall the teachers are all putting a lot effort and passion into their profession. However, a bit more structure would probably improve the whole school teaching concept.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...Enjoyed the facilities and equipment, good classes with good people and teachers, however, could be more organised, particularly with time management. Would recommend to others but think some improvements are necessary (such as letting out on time, having breaks on schedule). Had little idea of class prior to entering.

I continued private lesson with Thierry . I have study with him in the past . I request him again and the school arranged classes with Thierry. I feel the whole staff of the school are very supportive and accommodating. I had my own lodging I arranged by myself.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...I looked at several schools and selected Accord based on its ratings, price and location. After signing up for a class I was initially a little disappointed by a misunderstanding of the description of the beginning class schedule. The description I read for the class I signed up for was for 8 classes per week which really turned out to be two 3-hour classes per week. After the first class I also fond out there are actually two beginning classes, a conversation class, and a grammar class that are really the same class, so if you only come two days a week for the conversation you miss all of the instruction and vocabulary from the 3 days of the week called grammar. There really is no difference between the classes because it's hard to separate the two. The conversation class was 2 days out of the week and the grammar class was the other 3 days of the week. I think the teacher saw one class that was 3 hours, 5 days a week which confused several students the first day. I figured that out the first day and went and talked to the front desk and they helped me fix it so that I was attending both classes 5-days a week. So everthing turned out fine in the end.
I really liked the teacher(s) I had, but it was definitely a challenge having no previous French language experience to understand what was being explained in French alone. It was a bit of what Americans like to call the chicken and egg problem or trying to learn a language being explained in the very language we're trying to learn. One of the problems was the class was always changing and different people came into the beginning class with different french language skill levels. It seemed like there was only maybe one or two other people besides myself that were in the class with zero previous experience. Several people came into and out of the beginner's class knowing enough French to already be able to have complete conversations with the teacher. That sometimes made it much harder for those of us that had no idea what they were saying to keep up with the pace being set by some of these more experienced students. Because some of the more experienced students seemed to already understand or understood the explaination of new concepts quicker then those of us who struggled to understand what the teacher was saying and I didn't want to hold the class back if I was the only one lost, there were several times where I decided to just take notes and wait until I went back home and could do a little research on my own to try and figure how to make sense of the subject being discussed.
There were no social activities presented. I had already arranged for my accomodations, so it was to late to consider the housing option. As for everything else it was a great way to spend 3-hours a day for 5 weeks.
I really liked the classes, they were well designed and well adapted to the people attending the class. The location is really well located and the facilities are perfect for the classes. I also really appreciated the small groups of people per class. It made it much easier to learn efficient.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...I really enjoyed the lessons and teaching. The location was very central and had easy access to restaurants and the Eiffel Tower.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...I truly learned so much in one week with the guidance from Jacqueline, the instructor. The location is a lot better than the one before, they have AC, but in my Rm. 6, we barely could get it.
The only thing is that they advertised 10 students per class, we had 12 and 13 with the instructor in Rm.6 which was hot. A beginners class had 20! Yikes!
I am planning to go back again with the hope they only take 10 students.
Pros:
- perfect location
- kind and skilled teachers
- nice and small classes
- good balance in type of exercises (speech, listening, writing, reading, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, idiom)
- a safe learning environment
Cons:
- maybe I am not used to it, but sometimes, without ventilation, the classrooms downstairs were getting really cramped (warm and humid) in the afternoons, which did not contribute to optimal concentration
- for me, the morning classes were far more educational than those in the afternoon: that had little to do with the teachers, but mostly the students. the lessons by Nataelle on monday June 20th and tuesday June 21st were quite OK in that regard, but then I somehow got changed to another group, with Reda, and the students there had very different levels which made communication and therefore the educational value of the class, difficult. The problem here was mostly that the students were good readers, but not speakers; their pronunciation was (far) below acceptable, so there were substantially more misunderstandings than in the mornings, thus for me, my progress in the afternoons was not as high as I had hoped for. Or was I the problem myself and moved to a different group for that reason?
However, all in all I definitely learned a lot, did improve my French quite a bit and had a very nice week. I just hope in future the classes will be more leveled and if necessary, students transferred to a different group (with explanation!) instead of muddling on when it's actually too hard for them (they should not feel pressured to learn too fast for work and the like) so every student can receive the lessons they paid for.
Very open and friendly atmosphere, warm welcome with helpful staff. The classrooms themselves are very basic, but the lessons with the teachers are fun and lead to the set goal of improving one's language skills.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...Laurence was a very good teacher - positive, encouraging, patient and good at pushing us along. He explained concepts well. I enjoyed the trip to the Musee Carnavale.
The school is in a good location, well-presented and comfortable.
All the teachers are vey patient and very serious to teach French, but different teachers have their own ways to teach, what most of teachers taught are very interesting and very meaningful , some teachers are just based on the papers and less basic knowledge about the social current news.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...As a complete beginner, I found the classes a bit overwhelming at first since they were fully in French. I believe I managed and could in a short amount of time understand what the teacher was saying. That doesn't means it's the case for everybody, I already know 3 other romance languages so it wasn't difficult to make connections. Moreover in my one week course we hade three different teachers which became a bit of a hinderance. All of them had different teaching styles a methodologies so it was hard to keep up at times. The facilities were nice and the location is great to get to know Paris. Overall I believed I enjoyed my stay there, given a bit more time and less chaos surrounding the teachers I believe the teaching methods would've compounded into an amazing French course.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...I loved how the classes were built up and the chances I got to practice reading, writing, speaking and listening as well.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...Overall the conditions were okay. The teacher was excellent.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...Classes were very interesting as many contemporary issues were really tackled;
Teachers are very friendly and help towards the deeper understanding of the keys of the french language;
Location in Paris is fairly convenient;
Facilities are adequate;
Activities do really help in developing further link among the students;
Housing I have not experienced as I had arranged that before;
The classes (C1) I followed were toards a deeper literature level knowledge of teh french language. I wanted more discussion classes in order for foreign students to think and speak more in french language, otherwise fluency in the language is not easy.
The classes were nice I’ve learned a lot. The facility was nice and clean the classes were well furnished although the chairs with small installed weren’t really comfortable since there wasn’t enough space on the desk. Other than that the location was very good and the overall experience was fun!
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...On Monday we had no teacher and we were not informed about.
Then we changed teacher after 2 days.
The teachers were good. But we had no program for the week.
I liked the school for the position so close to the Tour Eiffel.
It was ok because It was just a vacation for me auf if I had an exam to prepare I would not recommend it.
I really liked the area where the school was and also the Organization in the school. The first week the teacher was always really late what was a little bit sad, but the second week I had another teacher who was perfect. My French now is much more better than before.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...My host family was great and the location was very comfortable. The two teachers, which I had during these four weeks were quite different in style, but both helpful in their ways. The groups were small (also due to COVID-19) which benefited the progress of the individual students. I would say that the language school really endeavored to find the course and level and offer for every person, which suits them best.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...Group of 17 pax was large, more as I expected. Interesting group of many different nationalities and ages and purposes of learning French. Made it interesting to compare situations of immigration (theme of the week I visited the course) in different countries.
Teacher was engaged, up to date and friendly. Paid also attention to participants who did not talk that much.
Location of the building is perfect, fresh air in the class room a problem. Window open=noise of the street. Class door open= you hear other teachers.
Technical support was poor. Sound of the videos could be better. Why no projector with small speakers????
Housing; booked my own hotel, not far from the Institue but other students told me about problems with housing and unfriendly hosts who refused to have dinner together with them.
I added 1 extra afternoon course, atelier, to have more grammar. Retrospective I had not realized the meaning of 'atelier', thought of cooking courses or so, and not of an intensified course.
Administrative personal was friendly and helpful as I had to use my cellphone for getting answers to the questions and my internet did not work well to get google.
After one week the theme of immigration was more than enough, I would have enjoyed to learn more about France, Paris etc.
Social activities were not in my program.
Location, facilities and teachers were really nice and satisfying. I enjoyed going to the classes.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...After taking a 2 minute oral exam, I was placed in a course my first week. Nobody followed up with me to see how I was doing, instead I had to let them know I felt the course grammatically was too difficult however I stayed because the professor was great and he motivated me to speak French which is the whole point of an immersive program. The second week I was placed in a lower course as the focus was grammar. I realized that the program was not working for me as I needed an actual grammar course which they don’t offer. The new professor read everything and didn’t ask us to speak up, only the first day. It definitely wasn’t worth the prices for an intensive course and I didn’t feel that the staff really cared as they don’t offer refunds or any type of support to see if you’re actually getting something from
Their program. I am not coming back, I feel there are better programs and teaching models for those wanting to seriously learn French.
I was very disappointed in the overall process and don’t think they take student learning or well being seriously.
I really liked going to Accord school in Paris to begin with the location of the school was accessible and safe, so were the classes. I really enjoyed the classes and the group of students present were diverse. The teacher I had was amazing, she was easy to understand and had a lot of patience with us. She taught us in a fun manner which made learning easier. However, more activities could have been done during this course. Nonetheless it was a productive class where I would love to go again in future.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...I think both, the morning classes and the afternoon classes were super interesting!
I liked that we talked about very current topics which affected us all, no matter which age…
I was just a little bit disappointed because I didn't met any class mates with the same age as mine…
Thank you very much for the stay!
teacher changed all the time, teacher was not prepared before the lesson, we didn't do enough practice, I signed up for a grammar class but most of the time we did listening comprehension
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...The school was as good as expected. There is one thing, which I don´t understand: my class was every day from 9.00 to 13.00 (or some later), but in my evaluation is written from 9.00 to 12.00 and the whole amount of the hours is 15. The real amount of my hours is 20.
I wrote from this same thing also beforehand.
Isabella was excellent and his way to teach interesting.
It would be nice, if there were on the first Monday afternoon un short prefing to the school and to the Paris. This prefing is made in schools both in Madrid and in Rome.
The test after the week was very practical and tested exact those things which we have learned during the week. Excellent!
Good location and facilities. I was shocked in the first class for the total beginner, as the teacher did not start with the basic grammars. You may need to learn your own for all these basic grammars while attending the classes.
For the classes, it really depends on the teachers. Some teachers are good but I didn't get much from some others.
The school is very central and pretty easy to find, the teachers and the staff are all really nice and always willing to help you.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...I loved the classes, the teachers were great and the lessons were pitched perfectly at my level following the preliminary test.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...Sarah was a very nice and good teacher. Unfortunatly i book only one week. I think the next time, i will book a privat teaching on top.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...I attended the school for 9 days (the tenth was a public holiday, so no classes). During these 9 days (4 hours of class per day) I had 3 different teachers, two of which were excellent and one was a waste of time and money.
My course was a C1 (= high level) course, and from day 3 to 5 we had this substitute teacher who arbitrarily lowered the level to B2 using only materials from a B2 book, spending a lot of time on grammar exercises we did not need, and what was worst, going through everything extremely slowly. You could see more than half the class rolling their eyes now and then.
The two other teachers were very good and knew what they were doing. They were goal-oriented, had an eye on the clock and paced the class very well. So with them, I was able to learn quite a bit.
The other students were all highly motivated, friendly people. With some of them, I met after class in the cafeteria for some more French conversation.
The cafeteria was nice, with several snack and drink vending machines at very affordable prices (50 cents for a coffee, 2.50 for a packed sandwich (two triangles), 1.- for half a litre of bottled water.
The restroom facilities are a bit too limited at break time - with two stalls in the ladies room, there is always a queue at break time, but the break is long enough.
I liked the fact that some of the people working at the reception were actually from other countries (one was German and one was English) and I heard the manager speak fluent Spanish to someone, so if you don't speak much French, yet, you will always find someone who understands you well in English, or even in your native language.
The entrance to the building is right next to exit 6 (the stairs to your right) of the Metro station "Grands boulevards", so it is easy to access (albeit not so easy to find at first, because the door holds the number 16 on one side and 14 on the other, and I first saw only the 16 and thought the 14 would be the next building).
If I had had more holiday weeks, I would happily have continued my course with my last teacher, Siby.
My experience at ACCORD was kind of good. Teachers were kind and they surely knew how to entertain a class.
I didn’t appreciate too much Agnes’ ways of teaching: she used to tell me to look on my dictionary or mobile phone for new words instead of asking her cause we would have lost time. That’s very wrong cause students pay for a service.
ACCORD’s building is fantastic and in a good position. The only bad thing was the absence of air conditioning and we had to have lessons with 43 degrees.
My first teacher was completely inexperienced. She did no grammar or structures with us at all. We are supposed to get some actual teaching, not just play some games and draw pictures. In the afternoon sessions, I was put in a class which was at least B1 or B2 level, where most people were speaking French already quite fluently. The teacher did zero grammar and simply spoke at a high level of French and did no explaining whatsoever. I complained to the director and was moved to another class both in the afternoons and mornings. However, the new morning teacher this time was quite experienced, yet she also did not spend much time teaching or explaining things and you could not get her to write things on the board so you could understand the difference between tenses etc.
I received 2 extra free days as compensation and then was placed with Mr Laurent, who was finally a brilliant teacher and I had 2 days of excellent teaching from someone who actually understands how to bring students from one level to the next level and not by just speaking rapid French to them! Having paid for 5 days though I was most annoyed.
In my personal opinion I very much enjoyed the classes at ACCORD. It was such a great environment to walk in everyday and continue to learn and grow in French. I liked how there were different teachers almost everyday. The teachers that I had were all so respectful and created a classroom environment where everyone felt included and encouraged to speak in French. The location was very convenient as we could explore the city before or after class. Overall, I enjoyed my time at ACCORD.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...I initially had reservations because I was placed into an intermediate level class instead of entry level on my first day with the school; it was simply a miscommunication because I was told to visit the incorrect room, but neither the school nor I picked up on this until nearly an hour into the first class! The classes are all conducted entirely in French, which is entirely understandable, hence why I never realized. I was not offered the opportunity to extend by a further week due to the schools error.
However, this incident aside, my overall experience with the school was very positive. Classes were generally well organised and the level of teaching good (Neim, who led my A1 class, is an excellent teacher).
I had hoped to renew with the school, but ultimately opted not to because of my financial circumstances, but I would definitely recommend the school to others.
I need to wait for my answers, may be I haven't informed where the classroom are, need to search every afternoon.-( But the teachers are qualified.

I was a little disappointed by the fact that I've explained very specifically what was my goal in studying French, and my demand was not fulfilled from the beginning.
My goal was to study French very dynamically, very intensively, during a short course. I've also mentioned, that the evening classes would be more suitable, but I am open to other possibilities.
When I came to School, I've passed a test and eventually, my level of French was a little bit too high for an evening class! But your system works in such a strange way that I had to pay for the type of class (evening/morning) BEFORE actually testing my level and finding out that there is no group in evening classes for me!
If your school doesn't have a B1-B2 level for an evening class, than you should at first do the language test, and only then propose a group (morning or evening) proceeding from the level of the language, not other way around.
My goal was to improve my language skills fast and most effective possible (I am applying for universities this summer, so it's very serious) and what I got was a group with a level lower than mine, that was following exactly the same textbook that I've already completed 8 month ago!!! Marked with a level "Debutant", when I was already B1 with my French. It was soooo disappointing.
It took me 2 weeks to manage my transmission to the morning class, but I've already wasted precious money and time on courses that were 0 help for me.
But I am very grateful to people who work in ACCORD School and who helped me in this situation, because it was unusual. They were very nice.
Also, the teacher of a morning class, her name is Joy, she is wonderful! I only wish I had more time with her in morning class.
good but not perfect level of students were different not equal
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...The overall experience was good. I went there for 5 days while I was traveling through Europe. I only took the afternoon classes from 2:15 to 5:15pm, Monday through Friday.
Each day consisted of different subject, listening, basic grammar, discussing current topics, etc. Something I needed in order to maintain my French, which I didn't want to forget. I took French 50 years ago in college in Tokyo!
The teachers were very enthusiastic, and tried to help as much as possible.
Of course after so many years it was hard for me to follow the other students who were young enough to be my grandkids! But it was a good experience.
I would recommend to the other students, that if you're doing all kinds of things in the morning in Paris, afternoon classes are hard for you. I was already tired from so much walking and sightseeing, next time I'd try I would take the morning classes!
The faculty and the office were willing to listen to your needs..
I had a very good learning experience - the pace was fast which is good.
I found that the teachers who gave the best classes (best for comprehension and retaining of the language learnt) were those who wrote everything on the board as they went along. French is not a phonetic language. If one could understand everything just from listening you would not be there trying to learn it - one needs to see the words spoken visually as well.
I would certainly want to go back. A bientot..
very nice teachers, well organized, good location, international students - i had a very good time there
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...I have chosen the afternoon course and each lesson had a different teacher and different topic, it was "French Culture and Civilisation" lessons. It was interesting as one day we did grammar, one day conversation, one day listening etc.
I was really happy with the teachers Amanda, Emilie, Christine and Nicola.
I was given material and photocopies through the course.
I would recommend the course to everyone who has a basic knowledge of French.
It was a shame that no social activities were available for the students after class, in the school I teach in the UK, we offer once a week to go to the pub, cinema, for a walk or something all together to practise the language outside the school, I think it would have been good to be able to take advantage of it, if there was the possibility.
I took night classes at ACCORD 3h per week for 5 weeks. Even though it was a short stay, I can say that my French level improved a bit. The methodology is good and the exercises/ topics are related with real-life situations, which is useful. However, I had already seen most of the content in another course that I took. So, I would highly recommend making sure that you are placed at the right level. On the other hand, the School is located really near to bars and restaurants and a cinema which is ideal for you to integrate with your classmates after classes.

In terms of the teaching - it would have been great to have an overview of the syllabus, to begin with. I found too that despite being in the very bottom set everyone around myself had a better comprehension of the French language than myself so it would have been nice to have been paired with absolute beginners.
I really enjoyed taking the ACCORD language lessons and I feel like that I am less shy to practise to speak now. I really liked the chnging of teachers, so every teacher brings her/his own style within the lessons.

Do you have any kind of program we can do by internet ?
I enjoyed the professors style of teaching. I really like the casual atmosphere and the central location. Thank you very much.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...Positive: I liked the little group size, enthousiastic students and profs, nice area for students, focus on speaking french
Negative: no test at the end of my week to see if improvement was made
The classes were very professional with an enthusiastic teacher. They divided the students in small groups so you learn so much more than you would in bigger groups. The school could not be better located!
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...The class program is excellent
Most professors (especially Thierry) are good professors .Agnes with very little psychology as a teacher
No reception of staff neither when it arrives nor when it goes
Very clean. Excellent grooming staff
Air conditioning is missing
The teachers in general are totally impersonal student / teacher relationship
Very good teachers and pleasant administrative staff, but the ACCORD company has badly organized some aspects (the wifi did not work, the offices closed before the scheduled hours and it was difficult to use common computers when there was had no lesson ...).
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...We were 2 students only in the class the first 6 weeks which was great. I got moved up to another much more difficult class and then back again the last two weeks.
The school is good, so are the teachers. Great, accessible location.
Classes AM were very nice, multinational group of people. Lots of different nationalities. We had the chance to talk about different topics, multinational, but of course in French Language.
In the afternoon I had the chance to take business French. This course was one-on-one. This gave me a lot of opportunities to talk about my personal interests. Human Resources. By studying one-on-one I could increase my knowledge about the domain Human Resources in French.
Teachers and the other personel of Accord are very helpfull! You can ask any question, they will help you.
The school facilities are good, with a touch of historical elements. Nice!
I didn't do any social activities.
I took housing in private.
I had booked the intensive morning classes for two weeks in order to advance my French level in the short time. It was a great experience but everything depends on you and your motivation. School provides all the opportunity for learning: workshops, private lessons in addition to your lessons and they are really worth to take. However, a lot depends on the teacher you have and group members as well. I was lucky enough to have a nice group and one of the best teacher I have ever had, Nicolas. I was able to compare with other teachers and believe me he is so good. The stuff is very helpful as well. They always open to any questions and try to sort out all the problems. Location is great, it is in the city center and right next to a metro station.
Lack of social activities and housing are drawbacks.
All in all, it was possible to reach all my goals but I really worked hard and invested some extra money for additional workshops and private classes.
I stayed the whole week in Isabelle's class. She is a very good French teacher and motivated us a lot. I really liked that the sizes of the classes at the language school were very small and I also liked that we did not only have grammar exercises but also exercises to improve our speaking and our vocabulary. Furthermore the language school is located in the middle of Paris and very close to the metro station Grands Boulevards.

The School is good located. The stuff is very nice.
My teacher in the first two weeks was Amina, she is an awesome teacher.
I really learned a lot.
Perfect!
It was a pleasant experience to study there. The teachers were motivated. They used worksheets instead of traditional textbooks. There were no homework/ CD/ grammar books etc. Although the course fee is not cheap. If you want to have a grammar course or oral course, you need to pay extra money and even if you paid, sometimes they put you in an advanced class which gives me a feeling that they don't put their student's interest as their priority. Besides, I don't like them keep rotating students to different classes (some students have their teacher changed every week!)
However, if you are an advance student and you want to strengthen your oral aspect, it may be a good choice.
The class was well structured and effective, the teacher was friendly and fun and at the same time she was kind of hard, letting us know if we would have to study harder. That's something missing in a lot of language courses, the teachers "telling their students off" if they don't do their job. There was a very good mix of oral exercises / practice and of grammar explaining what we learned. Loved it!
The location was fine. I didn't join in any activity and had private housing.
I got exactly what I wanted from my week stay in Paris: From not knowing the French language at all, to having learned how it works and being able to express myself in basic conversations. I learned A LOT during the week I spent in Paris and now have the basic knowledge to be able to continue on my own. Great!
I would highly recommend Accord language course. I participated in the C + 50.
The course was grand educational and cultural offerings with a guided tour in French in Paris was something utterly competent and highly informative.
The language school is located at the center of Paris, in comfortable rooms.
I signed up for the ten week beginner/evening course and I was very satisfied during the first four weeks but then I was assigned to another class which is one level higher and this level was way too difficult for me compared to the other first course I attended. If I understood it correctly there was no class in between these. I ended up not going during the last three weeks because I didn't feel like I was getting anything out of it because I didn't understand anything, the course was way too hard and the other people in the group had a much higher level of French than I did. I had already paid for ten weeks and only attended seven so I am a little disappointed.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...Everything was exceptional. The school were very well organized and the teachers were very well prepared and ready to help.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...The morning classes were very good, and I really improved my language skills in my short period of time in Paris. Our teacher was very professional and did a super job.
I didn't like the afternoon classes much because they were either too easy or way too difficult. If I were to come back again, I would prefer the same class twice a day, so both morning and afternoon were beginner’s classes, plus French focusing on oral / speaking the language.
I am sorry to tell that my stay at Accord was a disappointment. I don't think the teacher I had loved her job very much, and I think she was rather unkind. There was one real good day with another teacher, with whom we talked, played and laughed a great deal.
I had only one week at Accord. and I think it was too much to use one day on a not very interesting trip to find signs in Paris from the book and film The Davinci Code which many of the students had not read, seen or even heard about.
One of the ladies rooms was stopped the whole week, and one toilet was not enough. I told the reception about it but nothing was done.
On Friday we wrote an exercise, but having read three of them, the teacher did not want to correct the rest of them. Too many
errors, she said..
Afterwards I met one of the students from the group. He told me that he had tried to get another teacher, because he found her too negative, but it was impossible.
Well anyway I enjoyed Paris - so I will always have Paris! - as they say in Casa Blanca.
I really liked Accord, though the morning classes weren't really for me. I guess I just didn't like my teacher. The afternoon workshops were amazing!
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...The Accord French language school in Paris was the best school and the best facility. I will never regret this experience. They were really kind and fun. They tried to do their best to make the language easy to learn. I benefited a lot and learned a lot in just four weeks, which is not a long period! I would love to do more French courses soon at the same school.
The location of the school is really nice and safe. There are a lot of restaurants and shops nearby. The cost is reasonable; I also took private lessons. This was really great and it improved my language faster. The courses focus on all the aspects of French (i.e. grammar, reading, and speaking). The professors are qualified. The best professor for me was Valery; she's so friendly and patient. Thank you.
Teachers are great and my oral skills improved a lot. You have to study grammar mostly on your own because classes usually concentrate on oral skills and listening exercises.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...I really enjoyed the school and how the teachers were with the students, how they used to teach me also how they try to help anyone for anything. The location was really good, in the center and easy to get there, about the housing I'm not satisfied at all, I think that that family and also the house aren't appropriate at all.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...I liked the small groups -- in the morning, we were 5 pupils and in the afternoon (French business), we were 2 pupils.
The teacher in business French had an excellent mixture of communication, grammar and business needs.
The place was easy to find and to reach by metro. The surroundings (sightseeing, restaurants) were nice.
We talked a lot and even had a choral.
In the morning, the grammar was too easy, but the conversation was okay.
My teacher for the morning class was Bruno. He was really motivated and a good teacher.
I was starting from level 0 and I can understand some French. But talking and making good sentences is still not possible for me.
The afternoon classes were nice. The level was a lot higher, but still possible to keep up with the rest of the class.
My stay in Paris was great. I met a lot of amazing people and had the best time.
I have had a good impression of the school and the teachers. The lodging near the apartments Saint Martin is also good.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...I found it well-organized, structured, and intensive!
All is in French, which mostly is good, but at times it can be a bit frustrating when I was unable to understand something in French. Therefore I looked for some hints in English at times.
A negative side however is that some of it is a bit repetitive. We have many presentations, which is great to learn, but maybe 1 each day is too many.
I wished there could be more focus on counting and the alphabet from day one.
One last thing, I think it would be great to have some more obligatory
e-learning programs for all students, so that all were closer to being on the same level.
But overall a good school, the teachers are nice and willing to teach French, and also have time if an individual doesn't understand.
It was really fun and I learnt a lot in 3 weeks. Teachers were really helpful and nice all the time. I believe that 3 weeks at this school can really make a big difference in French. When I started at the school I knew nothing but now I am able to talk about some stuff and understand most of the conversations. They really push students to do well. I recommend this school to everyone and it's also in a very central location but not the Intensive D course cause you don't really have time to do anything else.

Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...I spent a month in Paris taking classes at l'Accord Language School. The location of the school was perfect. All of the teachers were friendly, approachable, and perform their jobs well. The school accommodates students from a wide range of different languages and backgrounds which was great and I made a lot of new friends. The school conducts morning classes from 9-1 which focus on general skills in the French language. Students have the option to add afternoon classes on a more specific topic. I took two afternoon classes and felt like they were a waste of time. The school clumped way too many different levels of students into one class. This made it difficult for the teacher, but also for the students as the class was either too easy or too hard. I did not learn a lot of French during my time in Paris but that is by no means a reflection on the school or the family that I stayed with. I loved the time I spent in Paris.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...I stayed with the school Accord for 4 week doing 52 classes (40 hours) a week. Within this time I managed to improve my French from A. 2. 1 to B. 1, ie. in the beginning I was translating almost every word in a book, by the end I could watch movies with subtitles. Helpful and reachable teachers, quality depends on the specific teacher. Some were outstanding, some too fast to follow. I was though lucky enough to get great ones. Morning classes absolutely much more useful the afternoon ateliers. Afternoon classes not properly differentiated between levels. Last tutorial class (you get it if you take 52 lessons/40 hours per week) becomes not useful after the first week because you are overloaded with home tasks for the morning classes and cannot take more tasks. Overall, you will see no Paris if you take that much classes. You will not be able to spend much time with the locals practicing your French skills out of school. So my advice: all mornings + 2 ateliers in the afternoon per week. The housing can get really bad (like my first host family was), economizing on the electricity and being strict with the timing of dinners. After two weeks of being constantly ill (this was in December) I asked for a transfer which was initiated the very next day. Second family was great. So you should really forget your shyness if you want good conditions. Bear in mind that if you want to stay for extra days with the family the school will charge you double price a day ( which is more than the price of a decent hotel) and if you refuse to accept it they may get really rude saying that in this case you will need to leave the family on Saturday MORNING!!! Anyway, I would still recommend that this school, as the style of teaching is highly oriented on oral practice unlike Aliance Francais. People come from all parts of the world and it becomes a really cool experience.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...I liked just about everything pertaining to the school. I was very satisfied with the teachers and the quality of education. I loved the housing arranged by the school. At first I was a little concerned and sort of afraid of the commute. I had to take three (3) different trains to get to to the school. However, after a few days I enjoyed the daily commute. The family I lived with was so wonderful to me. Great food and family gatherings. I still communicate with friends I made during my stay in Paris.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...The school is nice, the classes too, but I thinke at school are a lot of teachers they can't imagen how difficult lerning french is. The school location is great. My housing too, but I think is't better to ask the people whether they agree with a smoking budget.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...The location was pretty good, very close to 2 metro stops and in an area with a lot of activity. The facilities were perfectly adequate for teaching. Nearly all teachers were great - I only had one (Vincent) that I did not enjoy. He was not good at seeking input from all students and at times lost a bit of control of the class. Also his teaching style was not easy to understand difficult topics. I found there to be a great lack of social activities sponsored by the school but in the end that was okay because I met up with other students. And lastly, I felt the flexibility during the week to move among levels was not good. I tried both the first and second week to express my discontent but no one seemed to listen. The first week I was not happy, the second week I just ended up switching on my own because it was easy for me to find the right level.

I appreciated in particular the rule that you can't attend with students from your own country, because I found it extremely interesting meeting so many different people.
I also appreciated the massive use of oral lessons: you can always study grammar by yourself, but speaking and listening to a foreign language are more important and often underrated.
The activities were quite varied and all the teachers were friendly and helpful.
The classes and the building in general were tidy and clean.
I am Daniel's father and he is too busy to reply. He enjoyed his experience at the school.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...The classes I took (morning classes from 09:00 to 13:00) consisted mostly of oral and written activities, with occasional outings and other types of classes. The course was not academic (i.e. not formal, requiring textbooks etc.) but practical, with the required language (French) being the only one spoken in class. The level of my class (A2) would be most appropriate for people who have studied some French already (even if never practiced). The teachers were very patient and helpful when a student expressed difficulty. The school is very conveniently located in the center of Paris. There were a few computers, wireless internet and vending machines available to students. It should be noted though, that there was no air-conditioning and opening windows usually brought a lot of noise from traffic. This was often problematic having taken the course in the summer.
