The teachers are super friendly and helpful just like everyone else who works there. At anytime you could get hot water or little snacks. I learned a lot in such a little time and will definitely profit from it in my future.

Classes were well laid out and organized, the activities were very fun and a great way to put your Spanish to use! I ended up extending another week because I loved my teachers so much and was learning a lot but they actually end up switching which classes they teach every week so my teachers changed. I still learned a lot the second week but my conversation
teacher the second week was not very nice and made me feel really bad when I would mess up unfortunately. Otherwise all the teachers were great, other students were friendly, area was beautiful, and it was overall a wonderful experience that taught me so much, I would come back!
School staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful.
Teachers very good, but sometimes talked too much: language teaching should be totally student-centred, facilitating students to speak (and read) as much as possible, as well as listen.
My homestay was great. Silvia was very welcoming and enjoyed conversing with me (with the help of Google Translate!).
One downside was that the school used a very young university student to lead the tour activities. He was a little more interested in practising his English, rather than speaking Spanish to help us learn more. Also, he moved very slowly, meandered in fact, and the tours lasted much longer than necessary (thus delaying a drink together afterwards!).
But the cooking class was excellent.
My class was very small, but that was a good thing.
Nice location, very cozy and light inside. Very inviting with refreshments. The classes were very interactive and I learned a lot.

You were greeted cheerfully, spoken to nicely at all times and asked if you had any questions. There were excursions every two days that you could take part in. The classes were very small, with a maximum of four students. A good atmosphere. Very well organised. It was really something special here in Peru at this language school.

As an older and advanced-level student, it's sometimes hard to find Spanish classes that fit my needs, but Peru Spanish offers it all, from basic to advanced. It's situated in a great part of Lima and the teachers are highly qualified. Moreover, the staff and setting have created a warm and friendly environment, with lots of group meals and outings. I hope to return there!

Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...I felt welcome from the start. 2 Hours of private and 2 Group where perfect for me & i really learned a lot in two weeks. I feel like i can understand a lot. What really helped even if it can be annoying in the beginning is that they strictly speak Spanish to you. Great over all!

The classes were really good. We were a class of 3 people based on the level of Spanish.
They offer a lot of evening events. Emily invited us to a BBQ on her terrace. You really feel welcomed in a small family.
Next time again. Won't even check other schools ;)
Very good atmosphere, the teachers work with passion. They use interesting and varied methods of knowledge transfer. Personally, I am very happy with the 6 weeks of intensive course. I learned a lot during classes and also learned interesting historical and cultural information about Peru. School location near the train station. I also like the evening attractions for those interested: visiting interesting places in Lima, cooking Peruvian dishes together, participating in Karaoke or learning to dance.

I stayed with a home-stay both locations which I would absolutely recommend to everyone. Both families I stayed with were SO kind and went out of their way to make me feel at home. It also really helped to keep my mind working on Spanish throughout the day and not just during classes. Classes were a great way to get to know others in a new city, especially with the different activities that were offered. I learned so much in just a few weeks during these classes! There were only a couple of things that were not superb - depending on the students there during your stay, some really revert back to speaking in English when not in classes. It was also sad that there were not many students in classes during the holidays. I would recommend not taking classes over Christmas/New Years so that there are more people to meet and be in class with. I would definitely recommend this program to anyone wanting to improve/learn Spanish and travel!

to refresh my Spanish, for a godfather visit and a round trip. I am happy to have done it.
Since I was a little older (65 years old), I had to start thinking
If I were in the right school there too.
After a short time I felt very good.
The teachers were very competent, friendly and helpful.
The additional cultural program was very useful to know the Peruvian way of life.
I would repeat this week again and again.
It was a very pleasant moment.
I was able to create my own "schedule," if you will, because I was taking courses that had been narrowed down to fit my needs. I was doing a study abroad program and wanted to learn Spanish as well as shadow psychology professionals. I was able to do that during my time with Ecela. In Lima, I had a great host family and was able to easily walk to the school. The extra activities were very fun and all the professors there were amazing. I had Antonio for the Spanish Grammar and Writing class. He really pushed me and tried to enhance my Spanish. He made me keep a journal and write about my time in Peru. While there were some errors, he was very gentle when it came to teaching the grammar and I really appreciated the feedback. Without his niceness, I most likely wouldn't have done as well. The school wasn't necessarily close to the city center, but my host family had children around my age, so I was fortunate enough to walk around and explore with them.

All the staff are excellent. Everyone is friendly. The classes were varied and more importantly, fun.
I chose to attend the school during the low season so the class sizes would be smaller. During my six weeks at the school, the largest class size (just for one week) was five students including myself. During the remaining weeks, the size was myself and one or two other students. For me this is ideal as I find smaller class sizes make you have to think and talk in Spanish much more than if the class size was larger.
The after school activities are really varied and fun. I think hat anyone attending should do all of the activities to help get an understanding of Peruvean life and culture.
I liked that the school give out certificate to students on there last day and organise a dinner. Not all schools do this.
I lived in a home stay about ten minutes walk from the school. I could not have asked for a better family. They were very friendly, helpful and the room and food was excellant.
Overall, my experiance was wonderfull and I would recomend the school to anyone.
I absolutely enjoyed and would recommend the ECELA Peru language school. The teachers impressed me with their knowledge, and were also very engaged in all the activities. I would say they went above and beyond to make the students have fun and feel at home in Lima. Facilities were nice, housing was well-organized and I felt like their vetting process for the home-stays was good, at least in my experience. They seemed to know well the families and people that are part of their home stay program. If I can, I'd definitely go back!

The school is very clean and organized and the activity director was exceptional. I learned a lot of Spanish during my two weeks there before spending another two weeks at ECELA - Cusco. While in Lima, I did a homestay that was wonderful. The retired woman with whom I lived was kind, thoughtful, and friendly and opened her home to me while feeding me healthy and good food. Lima was a lovely city and the weather was perfect! Having attended five of the six ECELA schools, I have been impressed with the schools, the faculty, and the safe and interesting settings.

I met so many interesting people from all over the world. The school also has daily activities in which you can take part such visiting museums, restaurants, archaeological sites and many more. Home stays are excellent quality with kind and loving families.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...The location of the school was great! I was able to stay at a cheap hostel nearby and either walk to school or take the bus. Both were great learning opportunities. I loved the flexibility of the staff. They worked with me to get my into the right level.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...Okay, so I took group clases for two weeks. In my clases were two or three people, which I think to be a surprisingly small class, as I expected more students, but that made it possible to get a lot of time with the teacher. The teachers I had, were pretty good. I like the system of changing teachers after a week, because it has you adapt to different methods of teaching.
During my clases I lived in an appartment provided by the school, because I thought, that two weeks were two short to live in a hostfamily. I got picked up from the airport and brought to my appartment and on the next morning i as brought to the school, which is conveniently close. So that worked out very nicely and I didn't have to worry about anything.
The only thing missing from my appartment was in my opinion a desk to do my homework on, otherwise I had everything I needed.
In the afternoon I usually did something with other students of the school and most often we went on the trips and activities offered by the school, which was a lot of fun.
The only thing that I struggled with, was that i didn't receive any detailed information bout my clases, housing or airport pick-up until shortly before my clases started. that made it a bit stressful for me, as I didn't come straight from home, but was travelling before and therefore had a flight o Lima, but no information about what would happen after. But even that worked out just fine.
Generally I can say that I had a great experience at the school and would definitly recommend it.
I went to the school in Lima for 6 weeks. I really enjoyed it! I slept in a Appartement for students, it was clean and the owner was very nice. The location of the school isn‘t it in the City center but easy to find it and in a safe area. I really liked the privat class because it helps me a lot. For like a week i got a teacher who i didn‘t like because she didn‘t show me new execises but after a talk it changes for the next Week. I liked that everything is so familary.
My favorit activity was Pisco Sour making.
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Ecela. It was the teachers that held me personally responsible for advancing every day. It has been two months since attending the school and the experience is still ever-so-present in my mind. There was a gentleman, that really stood out as his style of teaching made me feel as I was the only student in the class even though there were others in the room. This combined wither after school activities was amazing. I’ve attended other schools, but this was a unique experience.
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...I loved all the teachers. This was my second time in Lima with Ecela. I loved the new building but hated the location. I would probably not return because of the location is not very good. I wish that it was back somewhere in Miraflores or even in San Isidro. Is it a possibility that the location will change?
Details anzeigen » Weiterlesen...The location is perfect because it is centrally located in Lima, but in a quiet district which is a good learning and living environment. The facilities are great because the decorations are informative and fun. The classrooms and other rooms are well organized. The kitchen is small but welcoming and perfect for after school cooking workshops. I especially enjoyed learning how to make pisco sour! Visiting the art district of Barranco was my favorite activity. The shops had beautiful art and the murals on the street were mind blowing. Plus we hit the beach - getting that fresh ocean air was really nice. The view of the Lima coastline is gorgeous. I also enjoyed visiting the water park on Valentine's Day. The water displays, lights, and landscaping were all beautiful and it was a fun time.
The teachers at the Lima school are warm and friendly. I made friends with most of my teachers, they were so kind and sincerely wanted the best for their students. Jose is incredibly well educated and knows so many facts about Perú, including about the indigenous peoples. Mafa is really fun and has a great sense of humor that livens up the classroom. Christian is quieter, but is passionate about writing and stories, and always incorporated interesting games into the learning experience. Pilar is wise and caring, she mentored me not only in academic matters but gave me excellent life advice as well. Estefany planned awesome trips and it was so fun getting to know her.
My host family was very welcoming and kind. My host mom walked me to the school on the first day so I wouldn't get lost. Their apartment was next to a beautiful park and was a 15 minute walk to the school.
Overall I had a wonderful experience and learned a lot of Spanish. I ended my scheduled month with a certificate of completing the B1 level.
I took classes in Lima for one week. I really liked that they offered classes on grammar in the morning and conversation classes in the afternoon. They are both important aspects of learning a language, but other schools where I have been don't have the conversation classes.
All of the teachers were very friendly and helpful.
Ecela is an amazing school. The teachers are very friendly and experienced and they male sure there is a relaxed and friendly atmoshpere.
I have learned so much in the school. At the end of the two weeks I was able to speak quite fluently and have conversations with locals.
Every day the school offered some activities. As I had additional private lessons in the afternoon i wasn‘t able to participate in all of them but the other students enjoyed them very much.
On my last evening in Lima, the whole school, students and teachers went out together and we had an amazing time all together. My heart felt very heavy when I left Lima, but I will certainly go back for two more weeks of study soon.
A small and very familiar school. Teachers are funny but courses were focused. I liked the mixture of grammar and conversation.

So we learned a lot and would do it again, especially in combination with the host family. We felt very comfortable and our teachers were very nice and gave varied lessons. The classes were well equipped, the toilets and the kitchen clean and the courtyard very nice. The offered activities were very interesting and we learned something about the culture of Peru and South America. I have hardly anything to complain about, except that the water canisters could have been filled more often.
